Visited the Palomar Observatory - a lot like a Greek/Roman temple dedicated to science! Had an odd thought as we walked in but did think was nice to walk on CALTECH premises - a bit like holy ground. Then we saw the rattlesnake warnings!Great views on the trip into the mountains and amazing to see the telescope and it's mounting filling the dome - through a glass barrier but still inspiring.
